The Challenge

The UK Government announced that restaurants would be allowed to re-open in early July after being shut down due to Covid-19, however, new rules had to be put in place in order to keep people safe - one such rule being contact tracing.

The new rules around collecting guests contact details were announced just 4 days before venues were allowed to re-open, leading to confusion over the new rules and a rush to implement a solution to follow them.

Our Insights

Wireless Social and Purple WiFi created a simple solution free for all current customers, that allowed guests to fill in their details in a secure ‘track and trace’ form when logging into the WiFi, without the need for the operator to make any changes in-venue.

Our Solution

All the guest data collected via T&T in-venue is deleted after 21 days, and any NHS contact tracing queries are handled directly by Wireless Social. The new T&T solution allowed Wasabi and many other Operators to get on with their job of running a busy business, and not have to worry about the legalities of their T&T system.
